▪️Yas got started by doing a mini course in plumbing and basic DIY in a local B&Q and she absolutely loved it. She made the career change and never ever looked back.
▫️She works for a local authority as an apprentice plumber/gas engineer. She works with local tenants to ensure all plumbing needs are met including emergencies. She also works for the NHS (National Health Service, which is the UK’s healthcare system) part time doing healthcare during the pandemic.
▪️Yas is very much into the outdoors and took up running for her mental health. She has dogs and cats, although the dogs are better at outdoor activities with her. INCLUDING sled dogs, which I thought was the coolest thing ever!
▫️She would like to eventually go into teaching plumbing/gas as she thinks it would help draw more ladies into engineering etc. She also wants to continue being a mental health advocate as it’s something incredibly important to her! She would also love to qualify in renewable energies as it’s a massive interest of hers!
▪️ @that_plumber_girl_yas Thank you so much for sharing your incredible journey with me! I wish you the best of luck moving forward through all of your careers! I look forwarding to watching you achieve all of those goals you’ve set for yourself!
